Karelia University of Applied Sciences has successfully passed the audit conducted by the National Education Evaluation Centre, FINEEC (Karvi). As a result, Karelia University of Applied Sciences has been awarded a quality label that is valid for six years.
The audit team commended Karelia for its well-established quality system within the university community. This system provides valuable information that is widely utilized, especially in the management of the institution.
Over the years, Karelia has diligently developed processes and tools for knowledge management. These resources are actively employed in both strategic planning and day-to-day leadership. According to President Petri Raivo, having up-to-date information enables Karelia to respond quickly to any necessary changes in its operations.
In addition, the audit team highlighted Karelia’s strengths in aligning educational planning and research activities (TKI) with the university strategy and regional development. The audit report recognises Karelia as a significant educator of the region’s workforce and professionals, offering continuous learning opportunities. The university leverages collaboration with the business world to shape its educational offerings. Karelia’s societal impact is achieved through successful strategic decisions and well-executed core functions, including degree education, research, and continuous learning.
The successful audit demonstrates that Karelia University of Applied Sciences meets both national criteria and European quality assurance standards for higher education institutions.
